Plano Teen Back on 2 Wheels After Donation

A few months into a shift on bike patrol in Plano’s Douglass Community, one Plano PD officer noticed he’d developed a shadow. Fifteen year old D’Andre Nelson struck up a bond with the officers, riding his bike alongside them in his neighborhood. The officers stepped up with a big donation, after noticing D’Andre was riding a pink bicycle without proper brakes – borrowing it from his sister because his own set of wheels had been stolen.
