Plano Firefighter Charged With Sexually Assaulting 2 Children

A 45-year-old Plano firefighter faces charges for sexually assaulting two children, according to authorities.

McKinney police said a child victim told them Dec. 9 that a male neighbor and family friend had touched and fondled two children. Detectives determined that culprit, who has a child close in age to the victims, would occasionally watch the children overnight.

Officers arrested Lt. Larry Combest Dec. 21 and charged him with indecency with a child, according to police.

After arresting Combest, authorities said detectives found an additional offense that occurred in Wylie about 10 years earlier.

Combest is on paid administrative leave pending the investigation. He's been with Plano Fire-Rescue since 2002.

Bond was set at $600,000.

McKinney police asked that anyone with information about these incidents contact Det. Jason Pruett at jpruett@mckinneytexas.org.
