One person is dead after an early morning fire at a restaurant in Euless.
At about 3:35 a.m. Saturday, Euless firefighters were called to a fire at Napoli's Italian Cafe in the 3000 block of West Euless Blvd.
Firefighters arrived to find heavy smoke coming from the building and on search and rescue they found a person dead inside the building. Friends say it was the restaurant's owner, Tony Nasufi.
An employee stopping by to pay his respects said Nasufi was more than a boss. He said he was more life family.
He called him a good man who was generous, always giving back to the community. He said that was evident from the city employees and first responders who made this a regular spot.
Longtime friend Matt Policano said it will take some time for the community to realize how much they've lost, saying Tony was the first to offer someone in a tough spot a job or a second chance.
"If you didn't get the chance to know Tony, you missed out on meeting an angel. You really did miss out on meeting an angel," said Policano.
Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire along with the cause of Nasufi's death.
