A pedestrian was hit and killed by a driver in a Lake Highlands neighborhood overnight Sunday, Dallas police said.[[297976471,C]]
Police said the man was wearing headphones and carrying beer on the sidewalk in the 9800 block of Royal Lane just before he was hit.
An SUV traveling west on Royal Lane struck the man when he stepped into the road, authorities said.
Witnesses said the pedestrian walked into the path of the SUV.
Police have not yet identified the victim or the SUV driver.
