A passenger on a Dallas Area Rapid Transit train was injured Wednesday night in a stabbing in Dallas.

The passenger was stabbed on a southbound Green Line train at about 6:45 p.m. The train stopped at the Lake June Station, where the victim was transported to Baylor Medical Center.

There has been no information on the victim's condition.

Police said there was some sort of argument before the passenger was attacked. There has been no additional information regarding whether or not the two knew each other, or if this was a random attack.

The attacker did get off the train after the passenger was stabbed. No one is in custody.

Investigators examined the train car where the stabbing occurred and authorities are actively searching for this person.

DART spokesman Morgan Lyons told NBC 5 the Lake June Station is equipped with cameras. It was not known if the cameras captured any video of the stabbing, but any video would be used in the investigation, Lyons said.

"We've taken many steps to strengthen safety this year," said Lyons. "We will look for areas to improve while we investigate this incident."

Train service on the Green Line has not been interrupted. The other passengers were put onto another train.

NBC 5's Omar Villafranca and Ben Russell contributed to this report.
