The Arlington Police Department confirms an off-duty Arlington police officer was involved in the shooting.
The Dallas County Medical Examiner's office identified the man as 45-year-old Juan May from Arlington.
Duncanville police said Monday that the off-duty Arlington police officer was returning on a party bus tour around the city with at least 20 other people. Police say there was some sort of altercation between the off-duty officer and May that ended with the shooting. May was pronounced dead later at Methodist Charlton Medical Cetner.
The people still working inside the restaurant said they had music on and didn't hear anything and didn't know there was shooting until police showed up.
Duncanville police responded to the initial report, but the Dallas County Sheriff's Office has taken over the investigation.
