A Tarrant County Sheriff's deputy died Sunday after a medical emergency while on a call, according to the department.
Deputy Billy W. Scheets was responding to a call at around 5 p.m. when he passed out at the scene and became unresponsive according to the sheriff's office.
The sheriff's office says another deputy on the scene acted quickly and began CPR and Scheets was rushed to Harris Hospital in Azle where he died.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death.
The Tarrant County Sheriff says more than a dozen surrounding agencies gathered at the hospital for hours and escorted Scheets to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner's Office.
"We are humbled by the overwhelming support of the community and surrounding agencies. We ask that you keep the family and our team in your thoughts and prayers in the coming days," the sheriff's office posted on Facebook.
