A Fort Worth police officer shot and killed a man Monday after the man allegedly tried to run over another officer with his vehicle, police say.
The incident happened just after 4:30 p.m. Monday in the 6000 block of Wheaton Drive.[[303340191,L]]
Officials said narcotics officers were watching a house in that area when they identified a man with four felony warrants.
As the suspect backed out of the driveway, police vehicles pulled in front of and behind him, The Associated Press reported. The man reversed his pick-up truck, accelerating backward and striking a plainclothes narcotics officer as she tried to dive out of the way.
That's when a uniformed officer at the front of the truck opened fire, striking the suspect who was pronounced dead at the scene.
The man's identity has not yet been released.
The officer hit by the truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries, police said.
