No Injuries in Mansfield Hazmat Fire

Mansfield firefighters responded to a business fire shortly after 2 a.m. on Monday.

The fire happened at Dura-Tech Processes, Inc. at 1204 Antler Drive. The company does work with metal plating.

Fire officials said the fire happened in a chemical vat where an engine caught fire.

Fortunately, the sprinkler system contained the fire. There was a small release of acid, but it did not leak outside the building and was captured in an internal containment system.

Firefighters used foam to put the fire out.

The Arlington Fire Department Hazmat team was called out to monitor the air and water in the area. Everything was found to be safe.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation. Company officials believe it to be electrical.

There were no reports of injuries.
