A naked man who stole a city vehicle from a park in Highland Village was arrested in Travis County late Wednesday, officials said.
Jacob Sandoval, who was described as naked and covered in tattoos, approached a city employee in a public works SUV at Unity Park in the 2200 block of Briarhill Boulevard and said he needed help just before 1:30 p.m.
Authorities said Sandoval then pulled the driver's side window down and crawled into the SUV. The city employee was able to escape out the passenger side without injury before Sandoval drove away.
Travis County sheriff’s deputies said they received a report of a naked man setting fire to a vehicle at 8:15 p.m. They arrested Sandoval shortly after.
They said at the time of the theft that Sandoval may have been in need of medical attention or intoxicated.
