Mystery Surrounds Lost TCU Class Ring

Audrey Crist at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth is on a mission.

She’s trying to unite a lost TCU class ring with its rightful owner.

Crist tells NBC 5 the class ring was found in downtown Fort Worth at a 7-Eleven gas station.

Her research shows the 10k yellow gold ring was made by Jostens.

She contacted Jostens, but the company has no report of a lost or stolen ring.

The ring shows it was from the Class of 1926, but the trail quickly goes cold from there.

Crist, who works in the Registrar’s Office, says a record search found no one with the same name as inscribed in the ring. And even though the class year is 1926, Crist believes the ring was made between 1974 -1992.

“I can narrow those years down because the ring has the flying TCU logo. It also has Robert Carr chapel which wasn’t built until 1953. I believe a relative may have had the ring made for a father or grandfather,” Crist said in email.

She reached out to NBC 5 hoping some publicity would get the ring back in the right hands.

“You can tell it was a very special ring to someone because it is well worn,” she writes. “I know I would be heartbroken if it were my husband's, father's or grandfather's ring and it was lost.”
