Micah Ahern, a 7-year old Arlington boy who became an inspiration for the TCU Horned Frogs baseball team and many people across North Texas, has died of cancer.
Micah battled neuroblastoma, a cancer found commonly in the adrenal glands that mostly affects children under the age of 10.
In 2014 the Horned Frogs signed Micah to an honorary scholarship, and the players wore the letter "M" on their hats during their run to the College World Series this spring.
In a post on social media Thursday, mother Linda Ahern wrote:
"Micah is no longer suffering. He is healed and whole. I praise God for that. Now we all are left here to mourn the loss of The Great Superhero. Micah, you are so loved and missed. You were so brave even until the very end and we are all changed because of it."
