A McKinney pilot aboard a Houston-bound flight was arrested over the weekend after he fell ill from swallowing several plastic bags of cocaine.
NBC affiliate KPRC in Houston reported that the incident happened on Saturday.
Stanley Rafael Hill, 49, was traveling as a passenger on the flight to Houston when he “ingested 62 small rubber sacks of cocaine,” according to KPRC.
According to KPRC's source, Hill called for medical assistance at Houston's George Bush Intercontinental Airport soon after the flight landed. The source said a man had ingested balloons filled with drugs and one had ruptured, KPRC reported.
The man, who was later identified as Hill, was taken to Northeast Medical Center Hospital in Houston.
Hill, who works as a commercial airline pilot, has been charged with felony possession of drugs with intent to deliver, KPRC reported.
Hill's family told NBC 5 that he works for a small regional air carrier and is a father of two.
