Mariachi music flourishes in Dallas ISD after generations of support

As we celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month — we’re taking a look at North Texas’s own rich Hispanic history. Instruments like the violin, guitar, guitarron are central to mariachi music. Back in the 70s, a group of educators wanted mariachi music to flourish in Dallas ISD and there’s one instructor people still talk about.
