Denton police say a man suspected of fatally shooting a 51-year-old man early Saturday morning is in custody.
Officers were dispatched to a call of multiple gunshots at about 3:49 a.m. in the 800 block of West University Drive in the Denton Center shopping area.
They said that's where they found a man deceased in a parking lot between Drug Emporium and Denton Athletics.
The man's identity has not been released, pending notification of his next of kin.
Police were searching for Jeffrey Michael McBride, who faces a warrant for homicide. Police said they received information McBride may be traveling out-of-state in a silver Toyota Tacoma pickup.
Investigators contacted McBride on his cell phone and informed him of the warrant for his arrest. McBride then surrendered at a police station in Mobile, Ala., police said.
