A Tarrant County jury has sentenced Rodney Owens to life in prison after finding him guilty of murder in the 2007 disappearance of Glenda Furch.
Owens was found guilty after jury deliberations on Wednesday and Thursday morning. He will be eligible for parole in 30 years.
Prosecutors on Wednesday presented DNA evidence they say ties Owens to the crime even though Furch's body has never been found.
A former cellmate testified that Owens admitted to the murder in jail.
Furch went missing after leaving her job at the General Motors Plant in Arlington on Sept. 28, 2007.
Furch's 1999 Mazda Millenia was also discovered missing from the scene. Dallas police later found the car burned at an abandoned car wash in southeast Dallas on Oct. 3, 2007.
Owens was arrested following a chase with Fort Worth officers on Oct. 28, 2007. Owens was driving a stolen 2006 Ford Focus that he eventually crashed before being taken into police custody, police said.
