A crash involving an 18-wheeler that erupted into flames Tuesday in Denton affected traffic on Interstate 35 for hours.
Police say another vehicle cut in front of the tractor-trailer, causing the truck to strike a guardrail multiple times on Interstate 35W at the split with Interstate 35E at about 11:30 a.m.
The driver was able to escape the crash and was not injured.
No one else was hurt.
Thick black smoke was seen billowing into the sky from several miles away.
Several lanes in both directions of I-35 were closed while crews removed the truck and others made repairs to the guardrail. By 8 p.m. all lanes were back open.
