A resident opened fire on an intruder Thursday morning, critically wounding the man inside his home, Dallas police say.[[318290321,C]]
Dallas police confirmed the shooting took place at a home on the 2200 block of Greer Street at about 8 a.m.
Witnesses told NBC 5 the resident shot the intruder twice before he ran from the home, leaving a trail of blood on the sidewalk.
The intruder collapsed shortly after and was transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in critical condition.
No further details were released.
