Gene Jones, Wife of Jerry, Will be Jones' Pro Football Hall of Fame Presenter

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones and legendary TCU running back Ladanian Tomlinson will be among the seven storied individuals inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2017.

Tomlinson, former running back for the San Diego (now Los Angeles) Chargers, will be presented at the induction ceremony in Canton, Ohio, by Lorenzo Neal. Neil is quite accustomed to leading the way for Tomlinson, as his former fullback in San Diego.

Jerry Jones, who is also the general manager and president for "America's Team," will be presented by his wife, Gene Jones.

"Gene is the backbone of our family," said Jerry Jones via a press release. "Her influence guides and inspires all of us. She is my closest advisor, my best friend, and it is only fitting that she present me."

Gene, a native of Danville, Ark., met Jerry while the two attended the University of Arkansas. They married while still in college and celebrated their 50th anniversary in 2013.

Gene Jones will be one of four women ever to present an inductee, joining Brenda Warner (who will be presenting quarterback Kurt Warner at the same ceremony), Kim Singletary and Deanna Favre.

And, coincidentally, former Super Bowl-winning Cowboys Coach Jimmy Johnson will be presenting Jason Taylor — the two worked together during Johnson's tenure with the Dolphins, following Johnson's time with the Cowboys.

The 2017 Hall of Fame class will be formally inducted on Saturday, Aug. 5.
