A Frisco family says the car crash that killed a 3-year-old boy in The Colony is "eating everybody up."
Ismael Galindez III died at the crash scene on Farm-to-Market 423 on Friday afternoon.
"He was my son, too," said uncle Charles Galindez, who added that he keeps seeing shadows of his nephew around the family home.
The boy's birth brought the family together, he said.
"Every toy that we touch makes a noise; his shoes, they won't light up anymore by themselves," he said.
The crash is still under investigation. Galindez said it has been especially difficult for the boy's grandmother, who was driving.
According to The Colony police, she lost control of her vehicle and struck a guardrail. At some point, she realized that Ismael was no longer in the back seat, police said.

The boy was ejected, and officers found him a short distance away. First responders could not save his life.
"That accident will be with her forever," Galindez said. "No matter how many grandchildren or how many children come into her life, no one will ever replace him."
A fund has been set up at First National Bank for the family. The account number is 438497257.
The family will host a viewing at Ted Dickey's Funeral Home at 2121 18th Street in Plano from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the same location.
