Heavy fire on the roof forced the firefighters to evacuate the house in the 400 block of Evergreen Drive.
Firefighters searched the home before evacuating and found no one inside. The Hurst fire chief said the residents were out of town at the time.
Bedford firefighters arrived at the scene to assist.
No injuries were reported.
The Tarrant County arson task force is investigating the cause of the fire.
