Investigators are trying to determine what started a fatal fire at an apartment complex in Haltom City.
The fire broke out around 11 p.m. Sunday at the Waldemar Apartments just north of state Highway 121.
Firefighters got to the scene to find flames shooting out of the first floor of a two-story apartment. Once they were able to get inside, crews discovered a woman's body in the upstairs bedroom.
The woman's name will be released pending notification of her family.
Firefighters had to cut power to the entire building and evacuate about 50 residents. Most of them were able to return to their homes by the early morning hours.
Investigators have not yet determined the cause of the fire.
