A busy two-lane highway that runs from Denton to Aubrey has had two fatal crashes in the past three months.
On Monday, a woman riding her moped toward Denton was killed in a head-on collision on Farm-to-Market 428. Ryan White was killed April 6 when he hit a tractor while coming over a hill in his pickup truck.
White's family said the crashes have prompted state leaders to take a closer look at the road and discuss safety improvements.
The Whites said the senior at Aubrey High School drove FM 428 nearly every day.
"It's a two-lane highway -- that's why I had so many talks with Ryan," said Wade White, his father. "It's not a four-lane; it's a two-lane."
White ribbons now hang next to the stretch of road in memory of the 18-year-old.
"At 18 years of age, there aren't a lot of people that get to leave a legacy. But, at 18 years of age, my boy definitely did," Wade White said.

He described his son as fearless with a caring spirit.
"He would give me a bear hug, kiss me on my cheek and say, 'I love you dad,'" White said. "He called me his best friend."
A Paint the Town White blood drive in honor of Ryan White will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday in Aubrey. The town will be decorated in white ribbons, there will be live music, and money will be raised for a scholarship in White's memory.
