Familiar Face to Oversee Bush Library

A longtime National Archives official who's helped oversee every presidential library will be the director of the George W. Bush Presidential Library in Dallas.

The acting U.S. archivist on Monday announced the appointment of Alan C. Lowe, who spent 14 years with the National Archives presidential library system.

The Bush library and museum, due to be built on the campus of Southern Methodist University, will be the 13th such facility in the presidential library system.

Lowe is currently the executive director of the Howard H. Baker Jr. Center for Public Policy in Knoxville, Tenn. He'll begin his duties with the Bush library in April.
