A former Amarillo police officer is accused of making changes to a police report in connection with an incident in which he and another officer illegally entered a home.
The Amarillo Globe-News reported that Saulo Bravo has been indicted on a charge of tampering with evidence.
The charge stems from an internal Amarillo Police Department investigation into an August incident in which Bravo and an unnamed officer entered a home late at night without clearing it with their supervisor.
The officers weren't wearing uniforms and were driving an unmarked car when they entered the home. Authorities said the two officers didn't identify themselves until after the homeowner had fired two shots at them.
Police have not said whether Bravo's partner was disciplined over the incident.
