Trinity High School and Midway Park Elementary in Euless were placed under lock down due to a threat near the schools Friday.
Officials with the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District said the Euless Police Department were investigating near the schools after a stolen gun and car were believed to have been found in the area.
Officers searched and found the stolen car, but the stolen gun was not inside.
Out of an abundance of caution, the district locked down both campuses while the investigation was underway.
At about 2 p.m., the lock downs at both campuses were lifted.
Further information about the police investigation has not yet been made available.
