El Paso Mayor Declares State of Emergency Due to Border Crisis

As officials brace for what’s expected to be a huge influx of migrants, El Paso’s mayor says he fears for the safety of both his community and asylum seekers. He says this state of emergency will allow him to request additional resources as they prepare for thousands more to enter their city each day.
