DART Officer Brent Thompson Laid to Rest
One of five officers killed in a sniper ambush during a peaceful protest in Dallas against police-involved shootings was “a great officer” and had recently married, according to his chief. Brent Thompson, 43, was an officer with Dallas Area Rapid Transit and had joined the department in 2009, according to a statement released by DART. He’s the first officer in the 27-year history of the department to be killed in the line of duty.
