The Dallas Police Department is issuing a reminder to parents about the city’s curfew ordinance for minors and the penalty for those who do not follow it.
The regulation also applies to business owners and operators that knowingly allow a minor to remain in a public place during the following times:
- Sunday through Thursday between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Saturday and Sunday between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m.
The curfew has been enforced since 1994, and it also includes juveniles under the age of 17 who are truant from school Monday through Friday between the hours of 9 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
A business owner, parent or guardian who allow their children to violate the ordinance could be cited or fined up to $500, according to Dallas Police.
