The bodies of a Navy veteran and his girlfriend were discovered Sunday inside a home in Rowlett.
Officers in Rowlett said 35-year-old Brandon McClain’s mother went to check on her son after he missed his son’s baseball game Saturday.
When he didn’t answer the door, she walked to the back of the house and saw the body of 30-year-old Amanda Todhunter in the kitchen floor. She immediately called police who later found McClain’s body near his girlfriend’s in the kitchen..
Both the man and woman suffered gunshot wounds to the head.
Police confirmed Todhunter shot her boyfriend [McClain], then killed herself sometime after 3 p.m. Saturday. That was when McClain last communicated with his mother though text messages about something unrelated.
According to family and friends, she was upset about him breaking up with her. Todhunter had moved out of the home two weeks ago.
Officers told NBC 5 McClain called them on May 24 to tell them he was concerned because Todhunter showed up at his house with a gun threatening to commit suicide.

“We’ve had two previous calls over here,” said Lt. David Nabors, Commander of the Rockwall Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division. “One of them was an assault case back in February.”
Neighbors said Todhunter’s two young children played with other children in the neighborhood, but others said the couple kept mostly to themselves.
According to his Facebook page, McClain worked at Navy Recruiting District Dallas. Calls to the Navy have yet to be returned.
