An overturned concrete truck shutdown the eastbound lanes of Interstate 30 at Ballpark Way in Arlington early Wednesday morning.
Arlington police tweeted that at around 3:30 a.m. the concrete mixer hit a roll of metal coil in the high-occupancy vehicle lane which caused a tire to blow out.
The truck flipped over the HOV wall, completely blocking the HOV lane. The driver was not injured.
The concrete truck was empty and, according to dispatchers, the roadway was shut down because of leaking fuel and so that crews could work to clear the scene.
Using a crane, crews righted the truck by 5:15 a.m., but hazardous materials crews took longer to clean up the diesel fuel on the interstate. Drivers were told to find alternate routes to avoid the area if possible.
Arlington police reopened eastbound I-30 just before 7:30 a.m. but the HOV lane remains closed.
