A Carroll ISD middle school teacher is on leave after being accused of having an improper relationship with a former student, the district says.
The district said Keller police arrested 45-year-old Carroll Middle School teacher Angela Barnes without incident following an investigation into claims she'd been involved with a minor last summer.
Police said detectives received a tip about the relationship in late September and confirmed it took place in June and July and had ended.
Carroll ISD said that after learning of the accusation, they immediately placed Barnes on administrative leave and cooperated with Keller police and Child Protective Services on the investigation. The district said it does not appear that any incidents between the teacher and student occurred on any Carroll ISD campuses.

The district and police said Barnes is facing charges of alleged sexual assault of a child and having an improper relationship with a former student. It's unclear if she's obtained an attorney to speak on her behalf.
Police do not believe there are additional victims. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact Keller Detective Brockmoller at brockmoller@cityofkeller.com.
