The man accused of slaying his estranged girlfriend and her 8-year-old son has been sentenced to death.
Cedric Ricks was sentenced on Friday, just about one week after he was convited of capital murder for fatally stabbing 30-year-old Roxann Diana Sanchez, and her son, Anthony Reyes Figueroa, inside their Bedford apartment in May 2013.

Ricks was also accused of stabbing Sanchez's 12-year-old son during the attack.
Ricks was charged with capital murder in May 2013 after he fled the state and was arrested in Oklahoma. His bond was set at $4 million for the capital murder charges and an additional $500,000 bond for a charge of injury to a child.
