Banjo Player Gets Prison in Texas Enticement Case

Prosecutors in Dallas say Abraham Eugene Spear of Nashville, Tenn., communicated online and by cellphone with a person he thought would arrange a tryst with two girls.

Undercover officers posed as the "mother" of the children in the sting.

The 31-year-old banjo player was arrested last September in Dallas where he had traveled for a performance at a club.

Spear in February pleaded guilty to attempted enticement of a minor. A judge in Dallas on Friday sentenced Spear to 210 months behind bars.

Investigators say Spear formerly performed with the Josh Thompson band.
