American Airlines Evacuates Passengers Upon Landing Due to Hazy Cabin

No injuries after passengers report irritating, chemical smell

Passengers on board American Airlines Flight 1387 from Kansas City, Missouri to Dallas were evacuated after landing at D/FW International Airport Monday morning.

The pilot of the American Airlines MD-80 landed safely at 7:53 a.m., the airline said, but a mechanical issue left a haze in the cabin.

Emergency crews met the plane after touchdown and evacuated the passengers.

A woman who said she was on board the aircraft told KSNT-TV the haze had an irritating chemical smell.

No injuries have been reported and the airline has not said what caused the haze to fill the cabin.
