Alcon announced Wednesday plans to laying off 125 workers at it's Fort Worth headquarters.
The international eye-care company said they plan to lay off 260 employees in total, including 135 others in the U.S. and abroad.
"This is a difficult finanancial environment. It's a difficult operating environment," said Doug MacHatton, vice president of investor relations for Alcon.
Employees were notified of the job cuts Wednesday morning.
Alcon has approximately 2,800 employees in Fort Worth.
