A trench freshly dug in for a North Texas water line collapsed on a member of the construction crew, killing the worker Monday afternoon.
A statement from city of Frisco spokeswoman Dana Baird-Hanks says the accident happened about 4 p.m. on Farm-to-Market Road 3537 in Frisco. The rapidly growing town of 125,000 is 25 miles north of Dallas.
The collapse caused Main Street, between Hillcrest Road and Coit Road, to be shut down.
The worker's identity hasn't been released.
The Allen Fire Department maintains trench rescue equipment in that region and assisted at the scene.
