A construction worker was killed and two others were injured Friday at a Frito-Lay site in Irving, police say.
The accident took place at a building under construction on the Frito Lay property at 701 North Wildwood Drive, near Loop 12 and Union Bower Road, at about 1 p.m.
Officer Robert Reeves, with the Irving Police Department, said two ladders collided, causing three men to fall as far as 30 feet.
One of the men died, Reeves said, while the other two were injured and hospitalized at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas. One of the survivors is in critical condition while the third man has serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.
According to police, all of the men involved are in their 30s and are employees of Walker Engineering, the contractor hired to build the facility.
The names of the men have not yet been released and no further details are yet available.
Reeves said no foul play is suspected and no criminal charges are expected to be filed. Reeves added the investigation is ongoing and that OSHA will be notified.
