Three men are dead and a fourth is in critical condition after a wrong-way, head-on collision in Dallas, police say.
The crash happened at about 8:14 p.m. Tuesday in the 4800 block of Great Trinity Forest Way.
Investigators said a Nissan Altima with a 22-year-old driver and two passengers was headed west on Great Trinity Forest Parkway when the vehicle crossed over the center median and into the eastbound lanes. The Nissan continued for a short distance before it collided with a Ford Escape being driven by a 28-year-old man, police said.
Investigators said the impact ripped the Nissan in half, with the passenger compartment of the vehicle sent over the side barrier of the highway bridge and onto a grassy area about 50 feet below.
All three men inside the Nissan were ejected and found dead at the scene, police said. Their names have not been released as of this writing.
The driver of the Ford was taken to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
No further information was made available by police.
