A crash involving several vehicles, including an 18-wheeler, closed all eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 at Bonnie View Road Wednesday morning.
The eastbound lanes of Interstate 20 were closed in southern Dallas County Wednesday morning due to a fiery tractor-trailer crash.
It appeared an 18-wheeler heading east on I-20 crashed into a highway sign near the Bonnie View Road exit shortly after 8 a.m. A second crash followed, involving a total of four vehicles, a Dallas County Sheriff's spokesman said.
Video from Texas Sky Ranger showed flames and smoke soaring from the crashed big rig. A white panel van was also severely damaged.
Officials said an SUV involved in the crash fell into a nearby creek and flipped, trapping the driver inside. The driver was transported to a hospital with an arm injury, deputies said.
Westbound I-20 remained open, though traffic moved slowly due to onlooker delays.
At 11:30 a.m. the trailer of the crashed rig was still smoldering and officials have not said when the eastbound lanes would reopen but they expected clean-up to last several hours.

At 3:00 p.m. TX-Dot announced that all the eastbound lanes had reopened. One lane of the westbound lanes remained closed due to an earlier crash.
