18-Wheeler Catches Fire, Blocks I-30 in Dallas

All lanes of I-30 have reopened in Dallas after an 18-wheeler carrying tomatoes wrecked, caught fire and shut down the freeway Thursday morning.

Officials said an 18-wheeler carrying 48,000 pounds of tomatoes wrecked and caught on fire on Interstate 30 in Dallas early Thursday morning.[[288697051,L]]

The driver lost control of the 18-wheeler and crashed into the guardrail on eastbound I-30 near Lawnview Avenue just before 3 a.m., authorities said. The truck scraped along the wall of a bridge, tearing open the diesel tank and igniting the fuel.

Authorities reopened all lanes just before 8 a.m. after the wreck shut the interstate down for several hours.

No one was injured in the wreck.
