An 11th person has died in Dallas County after contracting West Nile virus.
The patient, a woman in her 80s, lived in zip code 75225 and had the neuroinvasive form of the disease, Dallas County Health and Human Services said Tuesday.
Due to patient confidentiality, no further information is expected to be released.
As of Aug. 20, 262 people have been sickened by West Nile virus in Dallas County. More than 600 have contracted the virus across North Texas this summer.
Since Aug. 16, the county has been spraying for mosquitoes by air and ground. On Tuesday, five additional cities opted in for future aerial spraying campaigns.
