Two people are dead after a fatal shooting at a southern Dallas home led to a family member chasing the alleged shooter and crashing into a tree early Wednesday morning, police said.
Police responded to a shooting at a home in the 4200 block of Copeland Street where they found one person identified as 40-year-old Marco Clewis with a gunshot wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
A relative of that person left the home to chase the suspect vehicle, police said. The suspect has not been located.
The relative driving the white Chevrolet Tahoe lost control and slammed into a tree about 12:40 a.m. in the 3600 block of Elsie Faye Heggins Street. Occupants in a second vehicle that was also involved were not injured.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
