Dallas County COVID-19 Vaccine Community Registration Events Planned Through Feb. 18

Efforts to get more people in the most vulnerable Dallas County communities will continue over the weekend. NBC 5’s Larry Collins explains.

Efforts to get more people living in the most vulnerable Dallas County communities registered to be vaccinated against COVID-19 will continue over the weekend and into next week.

This weekend, volunteers are planning a “Max the Vax” effort with groups planning to knock on doors of seniors – checking if they need help registering for vaccinations.

The registration locations are targeting health care workers and people 65 years and older or those with underlying medical conditions who may have trouble registering on their own online or by phone.

  • Highland Hills Library at 6200 Bonnie View Road in Dallas. Registration is Friday and Saturday, Feb. 5-6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
  • Savers Cost Plus at 1610 S Westmoreland Road in Dallas. Registrations is Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. until noon.
  • Pioneer Event Center at 1025 W. Pioneer Pkwy in Grand Prairie. Registration is Friday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Arturo Salazar Elementary School at 1120 S. Ravinia Drive in Dallas. Registration is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • Savers Cost Plus at 504 N O Connor Road in Irving. Registration is Monday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Between Feb. 6-18, nine Dallas ISD schools will host COVID-19 vaccine registration events to assist parents and community members without internet access.

Visitors will remain in their cars while volunteers assist them in filling out the forms. Those who cannot complete the paper form will be offered assistance with entering the information directly into the Dallas County COVID Registration website.

10 a.m. to noon - Emmett J. Conrad High School 

Thursday, Feb. 11
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - W.W. Samuell High School 
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - T.W. Browne Middle School 

Saturday, Feb. 13
10 a.m. to noon - W.T. White High School 
10 a.m. to noon - Moisés E. Molina High School 

Thursday, Feb. 18
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - Thomas J. Rusk Middle School 
5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. - Hillcrest High School 

This event is open to all Dallas County and non-Dallas County residents.

You do not need to be a resident of the county to register for a COVID-19 vaccine in that county -- registration is open to anyone in Texas. For those without internet access, Tarrant County is also taking registrations by phone at 817-248-6299. In Dallas County, call the DCHHS vaccine hotline at 1-855-IMMUNE9 (1-855-466-8639). In Denton County, call 940-349-2585.
