'Tuna' goes to Vegas, backroom art is up for sale and Sonic Youth plays

SINFOLK CITY: What happens in Vegas stays in the "Greater Tuna" series in the newest play by Jaston Williams, Joe Sears, and Ed Howard. "Tuna Does Vegas" sees residents of tiny Tuna, Texas off to Sin City after ultra-conservative radio host Arles Struvie says he's goin'. Eisemann Center, 8PM.

GO HOME HAPPY: If you've missed the string of relentlessly inquisitive shows at The Public Trust (Charley Harper, Found Magazine's Denim and Diamonds tour), now's your chance to see a smattering of what has amassed in the gallery's backroom. "Cash and Carry: An Ever Rotating Summer Show" is on with largely discounted buy-and-take pieces for eyeing until Friday. Hours are 11AM to 6PM.

SWEET LIBERATION: We gave Sonic Youth's new record high points upon its release last month for the band's refreshed, sunny art-punk songs, marking a late-stage turn from Geffen. The band is in town, touring behind "The Eternal" -- the album title is fitting to describe the stamina of Kim Gordon, Thurston Moore and company, as it seems like they were just here. House of Blues, 8PM.
