What You're Doing Tonight: Tuesday, July 14

'Harry Potter' opens, Video Games Live captivates and Big J meets '90s Night

GONE TO POTTER: So it's the week of your wedding, the eve of a morning presentation, or the night you saved to pack for an early flight. But you're still lining up throughout the day to clamor for a seat: "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" is out, and you've waited long enough to see our bespectacled wizard get all Bastian and discover a secret book. Take your pick of theaters that host midnight showings -- Cinemark Plano West will have shown the film 19 times before daybreak tomorrow.

GEEK SYMPHONY: It's "Fantasia" for gamers tonight at Bass Hall as Performing Arts Fort Worth presents Video Games Live, a full-on multimedia concert featuring the music of "Final Fantasy", "Halo," "Metal Gear Solid," "Warcraft" and other dorm room staples. Some '80s-born baton-toting visionary will be inspired to go home and compose an arrangement for the theme from "Sonic the Hedgehog." That person won't have to wait for posthumous respect from us. 8PM.

REVENGE OF THE NERDS: Reclaim the slacker decade lucid-dream style at Hailey's as DJ Yeahdef and Ian Bangs celebrate the era of Urkel, Big Gulps, and mood rings. Oh, and radio house music. Big J of Cavern Cool Out fame joins up for this 90's Night. 9PM.
