Several fire departments fought a large grass fire that burned close to 100 acres Wednesday afternoon in Wise County, south of Boyd.
The fire happened near the intersection of CR 4791 and CR 4790. That's just south of F.M. 2048, which is about half way between Boyd and Briar.
The fire burned approximately 100 acres.
Firefighters expect to work through the night, keeping an eye on the fire to keep it from spreading.
