An 18-year-old turned himself in to Garland police after his older brother was fatally shot Monday morning.Brendan Demarcus Edwards was charged with murder and remains in jail. His bond has not yet been set.He and his brother, 26-year-old Ryan Christopher Smart, had gotten into an altercation in a home in the 200 block of east Taylor Street, northwest of Embree Park, police said.Police believe Edwards then shot Smart.First responders took Smart to a nearby hospital around 4 a.m., police said, but he died there of his injuries.Edwards had left the home by the time police arrived, officials said.
