Smog, High Pollen Counts Could Take Your Breath Away This Week in Dallas-Fort Worth

Pollen counts in North Texas haven’t improved over the last week, and air pollution won’t make the air quality any better this week. Dallas’ pollen count Tuesday was listed at 1,146 parts per million — the same count as a week before— according to The Weather Channel. Fort Worth also reported the same figure.Last week we had the fifth-highest pollen count in the U.S. This week pollen counts have risen in other cities — knocking Dallas out of the top five — but Waco and San Antonio took the top two spots, respectively.The Weather Channel's allergy tracker shows the Dallas area's pollen counts ranging from high on Tuesday to very high through Friday.Making matters worse, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality forecast air-quality conditions in Dallas-Fort Worth to be unhealthy for sensitive groups Tuesday and Wednesday.  Continue reading...
