Scores of Texas Companies Hope to Help Build Donald Trump's ‘big, Beautiful' Border Wall

WASHINGTON -- Michael Evangelista-Ysasaga has done a lot of “soul-searching” over President Donald Trump’s border wall.The Hispanic businessman takes a moderate immigration stance, backing a pathway to citizenship for some who are in the U.S. illegally. But his Fort Worth general contracting company could also benefit if it gets a piece of what he calls the biggest project since the Great Wall.After thinking long and hard, Evangelista-Ysasaga decided that his Penna Group had to go for it.“We need to be a productive part of the solution, rather than sit on the sidelines,” he said, explaining that he had heard rumors that other firms might propose “inhumane” methods like electrified barriers.Trump has stoked international curiosity over what he really means by a “big, beautiful wall” on the U.S.-Mexico border that stretches from the Pacific Ocean to the Gulf of Mexico.
